Mission: to assist the manager to maintain and develop HRM processes and in the department's daily activities.

Mandat: 

ISHR is an independent, non-profit organization with offices in Geneva and New York. This internship offers a unique opportunity to view the United Nations human rights system at work. It provides hands-on experience working for an international non-governmental organization (NGO) as well as the opportunity to contribute to our work supporting human rights defenders, strengthening human rights systems, building and leading human rights coalitions, and responding to significant and systemic human rights concern. The Human Resources Assistant will apply and develop a range of administration and human management skills through practical exposure to the daily activities of a human rights NGO.

Descriptif des tâches et cahier des charges: 

Responsibilities and duties include:

  • Support the manager in carrying out HR administration
  • Help to maintain HR processes and procedures
  • Participate in the implementation of new HR processes and procedures
  • Participate in the recruitment process.

 

In addition to HR tasks, the applicant will also be required to perform the following:

 

  • To support financial procedures (statements, closings, reporting etc.)
  • To help financial department with payments and expenditures.

Compétences informatiques et linguistiques (PPE): 
Informatique: Logiciels courants (word, excel, internet, messagerie)
Anglais: Excellent
Français: Bonnes connaissances
Profil du participant: 
  • Excellent level of written and spoken English;
  • Advanced to fluent French preferred
  • A degree in accounting, finance, HR, business administration, CFC commerce/administration or equivalent.
  • Good knowledge of human resources management and financial management.
  • Good knowledge of Swiss HR regulations.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English (professional level fluency). French is a strong advantage.
  • Proficiency in standard computer software (Word, Excel, HR tools).
  • Excellent interpersonal and ability to multi-task.
  • Strong ability to work independently, meticulously and in a structured way.
  • Very good organizational and time-management skills, ability to meet deadlines.
  • Desire to acquire experience working in a multicultural, inclusive environment and interest in the work of a human rights NGO.
  • ISHR is particularly interested in candidates who also have the following skills or experiences:
